Our last day in Chiang Mai and Thailand. It's been a great start to the tour, busy and hectic, but nice and authentic for the most part (and we've stayed under budget!)

We went for another big old breakfast, considering we wouldn't get to Luang Prabang until much later. When we finally got boarded onto the plane, which for the first time in all our travels was actually leaving early, we saw we had a proper old school plane, with two propellers on the wings. Really nice views from the plane between the countries.

A pretty good flight, only about an hour long to get to Luang Prabang airport. One of the nicer looking airports I've been in. But then maybe because it's also the smallest, we were literally the only plane there. Pretty quick journey to the hotel, where we have a balcony overlooking the river. Nice.

After doing a bit of research, it turns out that Laos has a country wide curfew of midnight, with most places in Luang Prabang closing at 10pm. It is very much an early to bed early to rise kind of place. So we thought we should get some food before everything shuts. It was really different, we went out about 7:30pm and it was so quiet, you would think it was about 1am. Things there are a lot of here: hotels, cafes, tour companies and currency exchanges (you can't get Laos Kip outside the country, so have to buy it when you get here). We stopped in a decent enough cafe, nothing too special, but it did satiate us which was good, and had a quick wander through the night market before heading home.
